Answered · How to
Should I delete videos that flopped?
No. A flopped video does not drag your channel down — YouTube ranks each video on its own performance, not on a channel-wide average. Deleting it destroys the small trickle of search traffic it still earns and wipes the data you need. Unlist it if it embarrasses you; otherwise leave it alone.
Jo videos chal nahi rahin unhein delete kar dena chahiye?
The longer answer
The idea that low-view videos poison a channel comes from a misreading of how ranking works. YouTube decides who to show a video to based on that video's own signals and the viewer in front of it, not on an average score for your channel. Its own creator communications have said this repeatedly for years. If channel averages mattered the way people fear, no channel could ever survive its first fifty uploads, because everybody's early work underperforms.
A flop is also not doing nothing. An IELTS coaching channel in F-11 has a two-year-old video on writing task 2 that has never crossed 900 views. It arrives almost entirely from YouTube search, five or six views a day, from people typing an exact question — and two of the students who walked into their office last term named that video. A 900-view video that brings paying students is more valuable than a 40,000-view Short that brought nobody. Views are not the product.
The data is the second thing you would be throwing away. Your flops tell you where your audience leaves, which titles never got clicked, and which topics your audience does not care about however well you present them. We ask for the ten worst-performing videos before the ten best in every audit, because the failures are more specific. Delete them and you are guessing again.
There are two fair reasons to remove one. If the video is factually wrong — an outdated fee structure, a policy that has since changed — take it down or replace it, because it is now a liability rather than a flop. And if it is genuinely bad enough that a new visitor scrolling your channel would leave, unlist it: the link still works for anyone who has it, the video stays out of your public grid, and the analytics survive. That gets you the tidy channel without the loss.
