How do I get my Facebook page back if the person who made it has left?

This is one of the most common problems we see with small businesses in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. A nephew, a former employee or a freelancer set up the page years ago, used their own Facebook account as the only admin, and then moved on. The page still works, but nobody in the business can change the hours, reply properly, or run ads. In the worst cases the former admin uses the page for their own purposes or lets it fall into the hands of scammers.

The quickest route is the human one. Contact the person, explain that the business needs control, and ask them to give your personal Facebook profile full control of the page through the page settings or Meta Business Suite. Do it in writing so there is a record. Most people agree once they understand. If the page was attached to a business portfolio in Meta Business Suite that someone else owns, they may need to transfer it or add you there as well.

If that fails, Meta has a process for people who have lost access to a page, generally reached through the Facebook Help Centre, and it can ask for evidence that you represent the business: a business registration, a utility bill in the business name, a website on the same domain as your email, or official documents showing the name. Results vary and it can take time, so collect the documents before you start. Once you have control again, add a second trusted admin, turn on two-factor authentication for everyone with access, and give agencies or staff only the level of access they need, never ownership.
