Should I pay a video editor per video or monthly in Pakistan?

Per-video pricing looks simpler, but it hides variation. A ten-minute talking-head video with clean audio is a different job from a ten-minute vlog shot across five locations with wind noise, and a fair per-video editor will price those differently. That leads to a quote for every file, delays while you agree it, and an editor who has little reason to study how your last video performed. It works well for one-off projects, an event highlight or a channel trailer.

A monthly arrangement trades flexibility for consistency. You agree a number of long and short edits a month, the editor builds templates for your intro, captions and lower thirds, and each video gets faster to make because the decisions are already taken. More importantly, a regular editor can read your retention graphs and adjust the pacing of the next edit, which is where editing actually changes watch time. The risk is paying for capacity you do not use if you fall behind on recording.

Whichever you choose, settle four things in writing, even on WhatsApp. How many rounds of changes are included. How quickly an edit comes back after footage arrives. Whether music and stock footage are licensed for YouTube and who pays for them. And who owns the project files and raw footage afterwards, so you are not stuck if you change editor.
