What is Top of funnel?
Top of funnel is the widest stage: content and ads made for people who do not know you exist and were not looking for you. The job here is to be interesting to a stranger in the first two seconds, nothing more. That changes how you judge it. Sales are the wrong measure — look at how many non-followers you reached, how many stayed past three seconds, how many saved or shared it. Targeting should be broad, because narrowing a cold audience wastes the one advantage this stage has. Most businesses skip it, run only offers, and then wonder why the same small group keeps seeing their ads.
