What is Shadowban?
A shadowban is the belief that a platform has quietly stopped showing your content without telling you. Platforms deny running anything by that name, and what actually exists is narrower: content that breaks a community guideline can be made ineligible for recommendation feeds while staying visible on your profile, and accounts flagged for spam behaviour can have their reach limited for a period. TikTok and Instagram both have account-status screens that tell you when this has happened, which is the first place to look. The far more common cause of a sudden drop is not a penalty at all — it is a change in what you posted, when you posted it, or which audio you used.
What does Shadowban mean for a business in Pakistan?
In Pakistan a real reach drop is more often something checkable: copyrighted Indian film audio muting the video, an account that engaged a follower panel for PKR 1,500, or a caption with a WhatsApp number in it, which platforms read as spam. Check your account status in the app first. Also remember TikTok itself has been blocked nationally in the past, and platform-level outages are not personal penalties.
A worked example
A Rawalpindi food page drops from 40,000 average views to 900 overnight. Account status shows two Reels marked not eligible for recommendation over a copyrighted song. After deleting both and posting three Reels with original audio, views recover to 22,000 within eleven days.

Understanding the terms is useful. Doing the work every day is the hard part — and that is what we do, from PKR 15,000 a month.
