What is Conversion?
A conversion is one completed action that you have decided counts as a result. Nothing about it is automatic — you pick the action, and the platform counts it only if it can see it happen. Common ones are a purchase, a form submission, a booked appointment, a WhatsApp conversation started, an item added to cart, or a phone call placed from your ad. Businesses usually track two or three at different depths so they can see where people stop. The rule that keeps you honest: a conversion should be something you would be happy to pay money for. A page view is not a conversion, however good it feels to watch the counter move.
What does Conversion mean for a business in Pakistan?
The most valuable trackable conversion for a twin-city business is a WhatsApp message that arrives with real intent — a name, an area and a question about price. Walk-ins are the ones nobody counts, and they are often the majority. Give them a handle: a code word on screen, a printed offer, or 'Reel dekh kar aaya hoon', asked at the counter and written in a notebook the same day.
A worked example
A Chaklala Scheme 3 physiotherapy clinic decides a conversion is a booked appointment slot, nothing less. August records 64: 41 from WhatsApp, 18 from calls placed to a number used only in ads, and 5 from the website form. Everything else — profile visits, saves, comments — stays out of the count.
