Social media management for universities in Islamabad & Rawalpindi

A university's social media is run by a marketing office and judged by admissions. In the twin cities you compete with NUST, QAU, COMSATS, Air, Bahria, Riphah, Arid and a dozen more for the same FSc student, and a private BS degree runs PKR 100,000 to PKR 300,000 a semester.

What makes social media hard for universities?

These are the things we hear most from universities in the twin cities. If two or three of them sound like your week, everything below is aimed straight at them.

  • 01Everything rides on the entry-test and admission windows, and for the other eight months the page posts seminar photographs nobody reads.
  • 02Twenty unofficial department and society pages are posting in your name, and one of them will eventually post something you have to apologise for.
  • 03Comment sections turn into public complaints about transport, fee challans and one specific teacher, and deleting them makes it worse.
  • 04Every ranking, accreditation and PEC or HEC claim has to be exactly right, because a wrong one is a regulatory problem and not just a bad post.
  • 05One camera person covers a campus of eight thousand people with four events happening the same afternoon.

What should a universitie business post?

5 themes you can return to forever, so you are never staring at the camera wondering what to say. We build your month out of these.

01

Be the admissions desk

Closing merit from last year, entry-test format section by section, fee per semester, hostel room and mess cost, transport routes. Say the numbers out loud — your competitors are hiding theirs behind a phone call.

  • Last year's closing merit for BS Computer Science, stated plainly
  • The entry test format, section by section, with timing
  • Hostel room, mess menu and the real monthly cost, filmed

02

Students, unscripted

Hand the camera to a first-semester student and ask what surprised them, then to a final-year student and ask what the worst part of the degree is. Publish the honest answer, not the polished one.

  • First-semester student: what surprised you in week one?
  • Final-year student on the hardest thing about this degree

03

One professor, one idea

A faculty member explaining a single thing they actually work on, in language an FSc student can follow. Two minutes on what the structures lab tests beats a press release about an MoU signing.

  • A civil engineering professor explains what the structures lab actually breaks
  • Two minutes on the final-year project that turned into a patent

04

Where last year's batch went

The number a father is really asking about. Three named graduates with permission, where they work now, what they started on, and which scholarship the fourth one got.

  • Three graduates from last year's batch and where they work today
  • An alumna in Berlin on how the scholarship application actually worked

05

Campus life students post themselves

Convocation from behind the stage, the last over of the inter-university final, society auditions, the first day of a semester. This is the material two thousand students will repost for you.

  • Convocation filmed from the students' side of the stage
  • The last over of the inter-university cricket final

LinkedIn#43 posts a weekPlacements, research, MoUs and faculty hiring live here, and employers check it before they come to your career fair.
TikTok#53–4 clips a weekIt reaches students who never open Instagram, and hostel-life and society clips do the recruiting without a single brochure.

What is a customer worth, and what should you spend?

A private BS in the twin cities runs PKR 100,000 to PKR 300,000 a semester, so one enrolled student is worth PKR 800,000 to PKR 2.4 million across four years. A single Reel that fills ten extra seats pays for a year of content.

Who is already doing this well in Pakistan?

Accounts worth studying before you post anything. We are not affiliated with any of them — they are here because the approach is worth copying.

Instagram · the official account run by the university's marketing office

NUST

One clearly official account plus a separate, clearly labelled international office account means a student never lands on a fan page by mistake.

Facebook · one of the largest university networks in the country

COMSATS University Islamabad

They run the admission calendar in public — test dates, merit lists, deadlines. That is what the audience came for, so give it to them.

Facebook · Rawalpindi's largest public university, on Murree Road

PMAS Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi

Convocation and campus event coverage reaches families across Rawalpindi and Attock, where most of their intake actually comes from.

Where are universities concentrated in the twin cities?

We work across all of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, but these are the areas where this trade clusters — useful if you are working out where your customers come from.

Islamabad

  • E-11

E-11 grew out of separate cooperative societies, which is why its streets do not line up like the rest of Islamabad. It is the city's flat belt: young couples, students and bachelors renting apartments, with a mini market in every sub-sector and a crowded Markaz of eateries, hostels and property offices.

  • I-8

I-8 is the best-planned of the I sectors and the one with real office money in it. The Markaz holds banks, private hospitals, coaching academies and corporate branch offices, and the residential blocks are settled professional families. Sitting beside Faizabad and the Expressway, it pulls customers in from Rawalpindi too.

  • I-10

I-10 is where a lot of the twin cities' everyday trade happens. The Markaz is packed with keenly priced clothes, shoes, phone shops and furniture, and the sub-sectors hold cheap rentals for students and workers. Its edge on IJP Road makes it as much a Rawalpindi market as an Islamabad one.

  • PWD Housing Society

PWD sits just off the Islamabad Expressway and is one of the cheapest addresses that still carries an Islamabad postcode. Its double road is lined with banks, bakeries, clinics, phone shops and tuition centres, serving renting young families, students and people who commute into both cities every morning.

Rawalpindi

  • Murree Road

Murree Road is the spine that carries Rawalpindi from Marrir Chowk up to Faizabad, with the Metro Bus running above it the whole way. Car showrooms, marriage halls, furniture galleries and coaching centres take the frontage; everything behind them is housing. Being seen from the bus lane is the whole game.

  • 6th Road

6th Road is a Metro Bus stop that turned into a market. The plazas along Murree Road hold mobile accessory shops at street level, coaching academies and skin and dental clinics on the upper floors, and a run of late-night food. The footfall is commuters, so being visible from the road is everything.

These are the phrases people in this trade actually type. If your page does not answer them, someone else's does.

  • best university in Islamabad for computer science
  • NUST merit last year BS
  • private university fees Rawalpindi per semester
  • Islamabad mein achi university konsi hai
  • university admission 2026 Islamabad last date
  • girls hostel facility university Islamabad
  • university social media marketing Pakistan

Which services move the numbers for universities?

Universities questions we get every week

How much does social media management cost for universities in Islamabad?

Packages run from PKR 15,000 to PKR 70,000 a month, and most universities start on Pro at PKR 70,000+. A university needs Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn moving together and a surge through the admission window. Pro covers three platforms, a month-ahead calendar, paid promotion in test season and a call every two weeks. A one-time audit of your existing page is PKR 5,000, credited if you go monthly.

Which platform should universities focus on first?

Instagram. This is where an eighteen-year-old actually chooses between two universities, and where your student societies already live. We would run it at 5 reels weekly + daily stories in admission season and add nothing else until that is steady.

What would you actually post for a universitie business?

be the admissions desk, students, unscripted, one professor, one idea — those three alone fill a month. Closing merit from last year, entry-test format section by section, fee per semester, hostel room and mess cost, transport routes. Say the numbers out loud — your competitors are hiding theirs behind a phone call.

Do you work with universities in Rawalpindi as well as Islamabad?

Yes, we treat the twin cities as one service area. We see a lot of universities around E-11, I-8, I-10, PWD Housing Society. Most of the work runs over WhatsApp and Drive, and we come to you for the first meeting or a shoot.

How long before a universitie account starts bringing in customers?

You will see the output in week one and the numbers in month one. For a local trade like this, enquiries usually start moving in the second or third month, once there is enough posted for someone to trust that you are still open and still good.
